The maze of the prison

 

The Maze of PrisonThe concept comes from the story CONTINOUS CITY 5 taken from the book invisible cities. We visualized the written form of description into a 3D space.This is a prison surrounded by a continuous maze that is to avoid prison break by trapping the prisoners by getting lost. Every police lived in the main building is in charge of 8 prisoners whose room are settled right next to police place.​

 

First, we think of how to show the maze by confusion of onterior and exterior, and with the help og geometry variations. As long as we find more and more references, we found the figure and ground of a urban plan can strongly and directly show the difference between public circulation and private space. Therefore, we applied this method into our design for the maze and the prison.

 

CONCEPT: FIGURE AND GROUND

By analysing the story, we want to focus on the relationship between the public space and private space. Therefore, we used the positive and negative relationship created by solid and oid.

 

Public space is void; Private space is solid.
